Our world, our products
Since its creation in Nantes in 1871, Loiret & Haëntjens has established itself in Europe as a specialist in the import and trading of agricultural commodities and food products for professional clients: industrial processors, packers, wholesalers and distributors.
In 2025, the company chose to fully refocus on its historic core business: sugar marketing, ending its other agricultural trading activities. This strategic shift reflects our ambition to strengthen our position as experts and provide ever more rigorous support to our industrial partners, wholesalers and distributors.
Our commitment is to offer our clients high-quality sugars, produced using environmentally responsible methods and compliant with the strictest health and safety standards.
Our history
1871
Creation in Nantes of a sugar brokerage company by Stanislas Loiret.
1885
Charles Haëntjens joins the company, which becomes Loiret & Haëntjens in 1898.
1931
Conversion to a Société Anonyme (joint-stock company).
1963
Start of activities in animal nutrition.
1996
Entry into the organic agriculture market.
2007
Flocert certification obtained.
2009
Acquisition of SIRDIS, a leader in castor oil trading.
2011
Acquisition of Navimpex, a leading importer of coconuts and tropical fruits.
2016
Fair For Life certification obtained.
2025
Refocusing on historical sugar expertise and divestment of plant-based specialty trading activities.
