Quartier Français is Reunion Island's leading industrial group, with further locations in Mauritius, Tanzania, the West Indies and Europe. The group, which has built up its foundations on the cane sugar industry in Reunion Island, is organized around 3 core businesses : Sugar, Spirits and Development.
Tereos (sugars, alcohol, bio-ethanol).
With an industrial presence on three continents – Europe (France and the Czech Republic), South America (Brazil) and Africa (Mozambique and Reunion Island) – Tereos is No. 1 in France and the Czech Republic, No. 2 in Europe, No. 3 in Brazil for sugar, and No. 3 globally for alcohol-ethanol.
Lesaffre (yeast, yeast extracts).
Originating from an agricultural background, since 1853 the Lesaffre family has built up a range of production activities aimed at the food industry. Over the generations, the company has gradually emerged as a major group specialized in the field of biotechnology. Lesaffre is today the world leader in the production of yeast and yeast extracts.
